About Tomball TX
Located in the Houston metropolitan area, Tomboll has a population of
around 10,000. Tomboll is sister city to Telgte, Germany, and the two
participate in a foreign exchange student program. The city is home to
Lone Star College.
Tomboll was originally settled by immigrants in the early 19th century.
The settlement was built on very fertile land, and farming and cattle
ranching were the main industries in Tomboll for quite some time. The
community was first named Peck, but in 1907, it was renamed to Tomball
in honor of congressman Thomas Ball.
